I welcome clients from varied backgrounds, with a particular passion for working with those who have experienced marginalization and disenfranchisement including, but not limited to:

  • women

  • the queer, lesbian, gay and bisexual communities

  • mixed race and multiracial people

  • people of color

  • transgender, gender non-conforming, genderqueer, and non-binary folks

  • people involved in alternative relationship configurations and sexualities, including Kink/BDSM and polyamory

  • fat people/people of size.

“Being queer saved my life.

Often, we see queerness as deprivation. But when I look at my life, I saw that queerness demanded an alternate innovation from me. I had to make alternative routes; it made me curious; it made me ask, ‘Is this enough for me?’”

I bring a background in social justice activism and organizing and my own experiences with oppression allow me to bring a sensitivity to how being different in the world can impact one’s inner experience and relationships with self and others.  My personal cultural experiences give me particular competence working with people of Asian descent and those who come from mixed race backgrounds.  While my experiences may not be identical to yours, I welcome the opportunity to explore your goals and challenges through a respectful and compassionate lens informed by social justice thinking.

I work with many different issues, but have particular interest and experience in the following challenges:

  • anxiety

  • impacts of oppression

  • needs of social justice activists and organizers

  • trauma and PTSD

  • childhood experiences of neglect

  • adult children of alcoholics or other substance abusers

  • life and career transitions

  • co-dependency

  • body image

  • cultural identity
